Nakatakdang mag-resign sa gabinete ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte si Vice President Leni Robredo bilang chairperson ng Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC).
Sa inilabas na pahayag ni Robredo, epektibo na bukas, December 5, ang kanyang pagbibitiw sa puwesto bilang pinuno ng HUDCC, kasabay ng pormal na paghahain niya ng resignation letter sa pangulo.
Gumugulong na kasi aniya ang plano para sa mga nais na umagaw sa kanyang posisyon bilang pangalawang pangulo ng bansa.
Marami rin aniya silang pagkakaiba ni Duterte tulad sa Marcos burial, extra-judicial killings at sexual attacks sa mga kababaihan.
Dagdag pa rito na nakatanggap daw ang kampo ni Vice President Robredo ng text message mula kay Cabinet Sec. Jun Evasco Jr., na nagsasabing 'wag na siyang dumalo sa lahat ng cabinet meetings simula bukas alinsunod sa utos ng pangulo.
Gayunman, hindi umano nito hahayaan na maagaw ang kanyang pagiging vice president ng bansa at ipagpapatuloy na matulungan ang mga pamilyang Pilipino.

With this resignation, you can expect that I will continue to support the positive initiatives of this administration and oppose those that are inimical to the people’s interest,
I will not allow the will of the people to be thwarted. I will continue to serve the Filipino family and fulfill their dream for a better life,
We had hoped this day would not come. I had been warned of a plot to steal the Vice Presidency. I have chosen to ignore this and focus on the job at hand. But the events of recent days indicate that this plot is now being set into motion."
